String INFOs

Here are some links to the topic of badminton strings:

My tip for string recommendations:
Which string a person likes, is (as with racquets) a very individual matter. While one player feels the string XY as very hard, another player describes it (with identical string tension) as pleasantly flexible.
Material textures, such as roughness, diameter, durability (limited) etc. exist of course and allow "tendentious" recommendations.
Selftesting by the years various strings (on the familiar racket) let you find "your string".

Stringing hardness:
Some players assume that they can make another blow with a harder string. The opposite is the case (to a certain extent) .
With the string hardness, the control increases, but the trampoline effect (rebound) decreases.
The harder the string, the faster it breaks.
Roughly I recommend (with individual restrictions):
8,0-9,0 kg for untrained persons.
9-11 kg for advanced users.
11-15 kg for professionals.

Pain:
Elbow pain (tennis-arm) can be a result of too hard strings. The stroke requires more power and the racquet transmits more vibrations.
For complaints I advise to test a softer string at least.

Natural string (catgut):
In the past, rackets were strung with natural bowels (falsely called catgut) . This material had certain advantages (feeling, flexibility) against plastic, but also many disadvantages: cost, durability, thickness and moisture sensitivity. After plastic strings have been developed further, natural strings are very seldom.
